Butler County Schools' Superintendent Robert Tuck issued the following statement regarding the incident:

"On March 10, 2022, Cody Donaldson, the Butler County Middle School Assistant Principal, was informed that Michael “Dillon” Chambliss, a Middle School teacher, appeared to be impaired.  Mr. Donaldson contacted the School Resource Officer, Joe Alford, and Deputy Alford administered a preliminary breath test, which Mr. Chambliss failed.  At that time, Mr. Chambliss was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, drinking an alcoholic beverage in a public place, and wanton endangerment–second degree.  Mr. Chambliss has resigned his employment with the School District and will not be returning.
