BCMS STLP Showcases Advance to State

The Environmental Connectors consisting of Gracie Deel, Lauren Tyree, Katie West, Macy West and Haley Hope.

On Thursday, December 6, 2012, Butler County Middle School sent four groups to Western Kentucky University for the STLP (Student Technology Leadership Program) Regional Showcase Competition.  The groups were:  Bully Busters consisting of Olivia Jones, Evan Johnson, Gracie Grubb and Kane Gott; The Environmental Connectors consisting of Gracie Deel, Lauren Tyree, Katie West, Macy West and Haley Hope; Exercise for a Cure: Relay for Life consisting of Aspen Arnold, Tori Shain, Hayden Johnson, Madison Clark, Alyssa Pace and Addison Hall; and Power to the Pets consisting of Kenlei Skaggs, Brooklynn Henderson, Hannah West and Dana Newland.

The showcase groups were to score a 105 out of 118 to advance to state competition which will be March 28, 2013 at the Lexington Convention Center & Rupp Arena.  The groups who have advanced are Bully Busters, The Environmental Connectors and Power to the Pets.  "The groups have all worked extremely hard on their projects throughout the year by going to classrooms presenting and working after school."  

Next up for STLP is the Technology Fair on December 12, 2012.  The top two products in each category will advance to the Winter Virtual Judging in February to be judged for advancement for the state competition in March.  

Power to the Pets consisting of Kenlei Skaggs, Brooklynn Henderson, Hannah West and Dana Newland.
