B.C.M.S. honors 8th graders during awards ceremony

Nearly 150 eighth grade students were recognized on May 28 for completion of their middle school studies and advancement to high school, as well as for various academic and attendance awards.


Following opening remarks by Butler County Middle School Principal Robert Tuck, several students were honored.  The following students were recognized for three years of maintaining an "A" cumulative average:  Sarah Belcher, Madison Cardwell, Michelle Cardwell, Claire Coleman, Duane Daniel, Jordan Dockery, Delaney Embry, Dixie Garnier, Kasidy Graham, Dana Newland, Makenzie Raymer, Bailey Stinson, Alyssa Swift, and Hannah West.  Weston Merritt, David Qiu, and Alex Rich recorded three years of perfect attendance; Justin Elms, Aubrey Hall, Seth Vincent, and Tyler Vincent had two years of perfect attendance; Kaia Bewley and Rebecca Mullins had one year of perfect attendance. 


Dozens of students were honored for academic performance across multiple subject areas and citizenship during the hour-long ceremony.
Tuck and Assistant Principal Tim Freeman gave each student a certificate of promotion.

B.C.M.S. 8th grade faculty are Amy Smith-Thomas, Holly Elmore, Lori Graham, John Embry, Cody Donaldson, Miriam Taylor, Carla Scott, and Laura Winters.
