BCMS Baseball kicks off season

The Butler County Middle School Baseball Team opened their 2025 season on Friday night against Glasgow Middle School. The middle school played a doubleheader consisting of two five-inning ballgames.  

Game One  BCMS 4   GMS 9

Even though BCMS collected eight hits to GMS's six, they still fell 9-4. Brody West led the team with two hits.

BCMS opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, thanks to two singles. Colton LeBlanc singled, scoring one run.

BCMS took the lead in the bottom of the second. Brody Dockery singled, scoring two runs, to give the BEARS the lead, 4-2.

GMS flipped the game in the top of the fourth, scoring seven runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-4. 

Levi Forbes began the game on the mound and gave up four hits and five runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking four. 

Brody Dockery drove the middle of the lineup, leading BCMS with two runs batted in, going 1-for-2 on the day.

 

Game Two- BCMS 9    GMS 1

BCMS efficiently handled GMS Baseball on Friday, 9-1. They got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after J.T. Reid doubled to left field, Clay Amos singled to center field, and the BEARS scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.

BCMS added to their early lead at the bottom of the second inning after a pitch struck Deacon Phelps. Reid grounded out, and the team scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.

The Bears added three runs in the third. Charlie McKinney singled down the left field line, scoring 9-0.

Brody West earned the win for BCMS. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out six and walking two. 

Reid drove the middle of the lineup, leading the team with two runs batted in. McKinney, Amos, Phelps, Reid, and Maddox Keown each collected hits for BCMS.
