The Butler County Middle School PTO joined with Morgantown Bank & Trust in sponsoring an essay contest for the students in grades sixth thru eighth.  The title of the essay was “What Would I do with a Million Dollars.”  On Friday, the winners were announced and prizes awarded.  The overall winner of the essay contest was sixth grader Rheaonna Shepard.  She received $50 from Morgantown Bank & Trust.  The actual award was supposed to be the interest for one day on million dollars.  According to Brad Young, Operation Director for MB&T, the actual prize would have been a little over $27, but the bank decided $50 would be a better prize. 

Grade level winners were:
6th – First place- Nicolasa Camacho $15, Second Place – Jordan McCrady $10
7th – First Place Haley Peach $15, Second Place -Naasia Cook $10
8th- First Place Michelle Cardwell $15, Second -Place Justin Blunk $10

“We want to thank Morgantown Bank & Trust, Wanda Nevins, and the Butler County Middle School PTO for sponsoring this contest.  We hope to do it again next year,” said Robert Tuck, BCMS Principal.

What would I do with a million dollars?  That’s easy! What would I do and what would I want to do is give it to charity and buy things my family and I need and then I would put the rest in a bank and invest into a business.
First I would give some money to charity.  I would give $100,000 to my favorite charity, Morgantown Mission.  I chose this charity because Morgantown is not a very wealthy town. With the money they can get more and better food for the food drive.
Next, I would buy things my family needs the most.  My family is not as wealthy as others.  So, first I would get my Nana financially stable, and then get clothes, food, and other things we can’t afford much of.
Last, I would put some money in the bank and invest in a theatre.  The money I put in the bank will stay  there. One day if I keep saving I might be a billionaire!
In conclusion, these were the things I would do if I had a million dollars.  I would give some to charity, get my family basic necessities, and put the rest in a bank and invest some into a theatre.  What would you do with a million dollars?
