BCMS #1 seed in middle school football playoffs; game set for Saturday at home

The Butler County Middle School 8th grade Bears football team ended the regular season a perfect 10-0, including the Green River Valley Conference Championship. This Saturday, October 20, the BCMS Bears begin play in the KMSFA (KY Middle School Football Association) State Playoffs.

The BCMS Bears will take on the Union County Middle School Indians with a record of (8-1).  Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, October 20 at BCHS football field. The Bears based on student enrollment were placed in Division 3.  A seeding process based on regular season play was then given to each team in the region.  The Bears were rewarded with the #1 seed and a first-round bye.

The Division 3,  West Region 1 was rounded out with the following seeds: #2  Caldwell Co. Middle; #3 Mayfield Middle; #4 Edmonson Co. Middle; #5 Union Co. Middle; #6 Owensboro Catholic; and #7 Russellville Middle.  The playoffs began all across the Bluegrass last week.          

The KYMSFA determines every aspect of these playoff games including ticket prices and admission. General admission Saturday to the BCMS football game will be $5 per person.  Children not yet of school age are admitted free.  Coaching cards and administrator cards will be honored at the game. 

Here is a look at the road to the Eight Grade Division 3 State Finals:
Sat. Oct. 20   BCHS host quarter finals game vs. Union Co. Middle- Kickoff at 4 p.m.

Sat. Oct. 27  West Region Finals- Opponent and site TBA

Sat. Nov. 3    Semi Finals at Lexington Catholic HS, Lexington, KY.

Sun. Nov. 4    Division 3 State Championship Game at Lexington Catholic HS, Lexington, KY.
