BCKY Rocks Paint Class and Project

Only One You, is a book written by Linda Kranz that is about a mama and papa fish sharing wisdom they have gained through the years with their son. The author uses painted “rockfish” as illustrations to inspire and comfort children as they go through life.  It only takes one person’s act of kindness to make a difference in someone’s day.  With this in mind a community project called The Kindness Rocks Project will be happening in Butler County. The goals of the project are to inspire others through randomly placed rocks along the way and to recruit every person who stumbles upon it to join in the pursuit of inspiring others through random acts of kindness.

BCKY ROCKS is a project co-sponsored by the Butler County Library and the Butler County Extension Service with these goals in mind. We want individuals to place rocks in random places with words of encouragement or pictures of things that make them happy painted on them. Then, we want you to look for these rocks and post a picture of you and the inspirational rock you’ve found to either the Butler County Library’s Facebook page or the Butler County Cooperative Extension Service’s Facebook page with #BCKYROCKS.

If you would like to paint some rocks to use for this purpose, there will be a painting workshop on August 17, 2017 at the Butler County Extension Office starting at 10:00 a.m. All supplies will be provided.  If for some reason you cannot come to paint with us, there will be a “Share Pot” located at the Library and the Extension office so you can “take one” for motivation, “share one” for inspiration and “place one” for kindness.

So come on BCKY (Butler County, Kentucky) and let’s make a difference in our community by inspiring others. For more information or to register for the event, call Kenna Martin at the Butler County Library at 116 W Ohio Street or call 270.526.4722 or Tracy M.
