BCHS Volleyball enters final stretch of season

For first-year head coach Ruthie Minton, this year's volleyball season has been a "building" year for her team but one that has shown steady improvement. The team has a good mixture of players with four seniors, three juniors, three sophomores, and eight freshmen making up the 18-player roster.

"This season has been a building season. It is my first year as a coach here at BCHS and we’ve had a bit of a learning curve," said Minton. "The girls have greatly improved in many areas. Their passing and serving has been the biggest improvement. Towards the end of the season many of the girls were beginning to spot serve."

The team has 4 seniors, 3 juniors, 3 sophomores and 8 freshmen and has varsity, junior varsity and freshmen teams.

"Our team is on the younger side," said Minton.

The volleyball district tournament is tonight October 18th and October 20th. On the 18th there will be a game at 6 p.m. and 7:30. The championship will be at 6 p.m. on the 20th.
