BCHS Volleyball: Butler County drops season opener to Muhlenberg County

MORGANTOWN — Butler County suffered a setback as visiting Muhlenberg County pulled away to win 3-0 in a high school volleyball season opener on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Muhlenberg County won 25-8, 25-16, 25-9.

Abby Harris (1 assist, 4 digs, 9 service aces), Kelsie Cotton (5 digs, 3 service aces), Marlee Laycock (3 kills, 6 assists, 10 digs, 4 service aces), Bentley Hardison (2 kills, 1 dig), Lexi DeArmond (3 kills, 26 assists, 5 digs), Josie Rice (2 kills), Mallory Oldham (2 digs), Megan McLean (3 kills), Maddy Pate (19 kills, 2 digs, 6 service aces) and Abby Phelps (2 kills, 1 block) each produced for Muhlenberg County in the season opener.

Lily Glass (2 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs, 2 service aces), Megan Clark (2 kills, 4 digs, 1 service ace), Samantha Johnson (2 digs, 1 service ace), Madison Jones (1 kill, 1 block), Isabella-Marie Kelley (3 digs), Kinsley York (7 assists, 1 dig), Evana Martin (2 digs), Miley Franzell (1 kill, 1 dig), Taylor Leach (1 kill) and Elivia Heard (1 dig) each contributed for Butler County in the season opening match
