Lady Bears fall to Allen County-Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE — Butler County was limited offensively as Allen County-Scottsville pulled away to win 2-0 in a non-district high school volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Alllen County-Scottsville won 25-5, 25-12. 

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 1-12.

Megan Clark (2 kills, 3 digs), Isabella-Marie Kelley (1 assist, 3 digs), Makenna Blanchard (4 digs), Jenelle Kimmel (3 blocks), Elivia Heard (1 kill), Miley Franzell (2 digs), Samantha Johnson (2 assists), Hadlee Renfrow (1 dig), Emmie Hawkins and Paisley Johnson each contributed for the Lady Bears. 

Butler County is scheduled to host Grayson County for a 12th District volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 19.  

Hart County 2, Butler County 1: Butler County came up short as Hart County held on to win 2-1 in a non-district high school volleyball match on Monday, Sept. 16. 

Emmie Hawkins (5 kills, 1 block), Hadlee Renfrow (1 kill, 2 assists, 1 service ace), Megan Clark (9 digs), Samantha Johnson (4 kills, 7 assists, 5 digs, 1 service ace), Makenna Blanchard (11 digs), Isabella-Marie Kelley (13 digs, 1 service ace), Jenelle Kimmel (2 blocks, 1 assist, 1 dig), Elivia Heard (1 assist, 2 digs, 1 service ace), Miley Franzell (6 kills, 1 block, 3 assists, 19 digs), Paisley Johnson (1 service ace) and Elliott Heard each aided Butler County during the non-district match. 

Butler County falls to Barren County, Muhlenberg County

MORGANTOWN — Butler County dropped back-to-back home matches to Barren County and Muhlenberg County earlier in the week.

Barren County 2. Butler County 0: Barren County shut out Butler County 2-0 on Monday, Sept. 9.

Muhlenberg County 3, Butler County 0: Muhlenberg County pulled away to beat Barren County 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Muhlenberg County won 25-11, 25-10, 25-14.

Lady Bears drop match to McLean County 

MORGANTOWN — Butler County came up short as McLean County won 3-1 in a high school volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

McLean County prevailed 25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 25-22.  

Following the loss, Butler County slipped to 1-6.
