The BCHS tennis teams kicked-off their 2012 seasons this week.  The girls are off to a 2-0 start, while the boys split their two matches, for a 1-1 record.

While the final team score was 0-8, the boys lost several tight matches, which could have gone in Butler's favor.  One match was not completed due to darkness.  On Tuesday, the boys hosted Warren Central and picked up their first victory of the year, by a 5-4 score.  Jake Phelp's 8-6 win at #4 singles clinched the fifth team point and, therefore, the Bears first win of the year.

The girls team's 2012 season saw what has become a renewed trend for the team over the past three seasons:  positive results.  While it was not the "prettiest" win for the girls, the girls picked up a 6-2 decision over Logan County on Monday, with one match not being completed due to darkness.

Tuesday saw the girls host a struggling Warren Central team.  With an expected easy win, Coach Dockery rearranged the line-up, giving some lower seeded girls a chance to get some playing time and match-play experience.
