BCHS Students Make All-state Choir

Butler County High School had 6 students make All-state Choir. Last year, only 2 students made it to all-state, Rachel Rose and Dylan Havens.  Jacob Clark, Spencer Coleman, Hannah Renfrow, Mikayla Brown, Alison Kurfiss, and Bailey Hunt are the 6 students that made it this year.

Mr. Travis Lowe, in his second year as choir teacher, has taken 8 kids in 2 years to all-state. All-state is February 5th-8th in Louisville, Kentucky.  At all-state there are 3 kinds of performances: Men’s choir, which is Bass and Tenor, Women’s Choir, which is Alto and Soprano, then you have Men’s and Women’s Choir, consisting of Tenor, Alto, Bass, and Soprano. None of these students made the men’s and women’s choir.

Bailey Hunt, junior, made the women’s choir as a Soprano. Alison Kurfiss, Hannah Renfrow, both juniors, and Mikayla Brown, senior, all made it into all-state women’s choir as Altos.  Spencer Coleman, senior, made all-state as a Bass and Jacob Clark, junior, made it as a Bass also.

Congratulations to all these students. We know they will represent our school well and will have a great time at all-state!
