BCHS Softball hosts summer camp

The Butler County High School Softball field was buzzing with activity last week as softball camp was in full swing.  After being rained out on Monday, softball camp was held June 6-9 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. daily. 

 

Thirty girls took part in the four-day event that focused on teaching the fundamentals of fastpitch softball.  




 

Members of the middle school and high school softball team served as “coaches” during the camp and provided instruction on throwing, hitting, defense (fly balls and ground balls), base running, sliding, etc.  Also helping BCHS head coach John Embry were BCHS softball assistant coach Lexie Smith, BCMS assistant coach Colten Cardwell, and Lindsey Wilson player, former Bear softball player Amy Rogers, and BCHS softball manager Heath Chaney.  Players assisting with camp were Andrea Deweese, Audrey Deweese, Conley Moore, Allie Hunt, Hannah Chaney, Ashley Thacker, Amber Thacker, Leslee Washer, Bayleigh Alford, Haley Peach, Evyn Frazier, Aleace Hall, Shalyn Bratcher, Tori McKinney, Autumn Proctor, Olivia Jones, Cheani Schroeder, Kaylee Dockery, and MaKinna Embry.




Campers were Ally Bivens, Destin Wester, Maycee Dockery, Taylor Smith, Ava Wilson, Parker Willoughby, Lily Glass, Jayde Dockery, Destiny Edmonds, Stormee Flint, Delaney Newcom, Skylar Schroeder, Karrington Hunt, Miley Franzell, Maddie Burgess, Isabella Embry, Anna Claire Phelps, Lydia Brown, Lola Clark, Tinslea Belcher, Addison Miller, Johna Cox, Mia Thomas, Shelby Parrigan, Madison Clark, Jalyn Embry, Taylor Leach, Lydia Decker, McKenna Lindsey, Cheyanne Elmore, and Graci Leach.
