BROWNSVILLE — Edmonson County dealt visiting Butler County a loss in a 12th District softball game, defeating the Bears 11-3 on Tuesday, April 1. 

Miley Franzell pitched for Butler County and suffered the loss in the circle. Franzell struck out two Edmonson County batters over six innings. 

Butler County scored three runs on nine hits. Franzell (one hit), Jenna Tomes (two hits, one RBI), Karrington Hunt (two hits), Callyn Smith (one hit, two RBIs), Lydia Brown (one hit), Carley Cardwell (one hit) and Emmalin Mode (one hit) each contributed offensively for the Bears. 

 

Bowling Green 13, Butler County 9: Butler County came up short as host Bowling Green prevailed 13-9 in a non-district softball game on Monday, March 31. 

Miley Franzell started in the circle for Butler County and took the loss.

Following Franzell, Callyn Smith made a relief appearance in the circle for the Bears.

Franzell and Smith pitched three innings apiece. 

Butler County scored nine runs on 12 hits. Franzell (two hits), Smith (two hits, one RBI), Jenna Tomes (two hits, one RBI), Karrington Hunt (two hits), Taylor Smith (one hit, one RBI), Madison Jones (one hit, one RBI), Carley Cardwell (one hit, one RBI) and Emmalin Mode (one hit) each produced offensively for the Bears. Providing a lift at the plate for Butler County, Tomes homered.
