BCHS Soccer: Lady Bears beat McLean County for first win

CALHOUN — Butler County broke into the win column for the first time in the 2022 girls' high school soccer season on Thursday, Aug. 18, upending McLean County 4-1.
The Lady Bears and Lady Cougars are rivals from bordering districts. 
After notching the win, Butler County evened its record to 1-1. 
McLean County dropped to 0-5 following the loss. 
Yesenia Diaz scored two goals to lead Butler County to the win. In addition to Diaz delivering offensively, Addison Miller and Loree Davidson added one goal apiece for the Lady Bears in the victory. 
Defensively for Butler County, goalkeeper Tobin Maxfield recorded 21 saves while limiting McLean County to one goal. 
Danielle Reynolds netted McLean County's lone goal in the non-district match.
Defensively for McLean County, goalkeepers Kyndal Daugherty and Emily LeBlanc combined to record 13 saves and allow four goals. 
Butler County is scheduled to host Grayson County for an 11th District girls' soccer match at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25.
