SBDM Meeting Minutes

July 9, 2026 3:30 p.m., BCHS Library

1.A call to order was made by Mr. Young at 3:35 PM. All members were present except Becky Smith.

2.A motion to approve the agenda was made by Dennis Robbins and seconded by Kayley McMullan.

3.A motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting was made by Adra Skaggs and seconded by Catron Burdette.

4.A motion to approve the monthly financial report was made by Dennis Robbins and seconded by Kayley McMullan.

5.Mr. Young gave a report on our Mission/Vision: Building a Better BCHS

A.  Being accountable for actions and education- 

-Review teacher handbook

-Review student handbook

A motion to approve was made by Dennis Robbins and seconded by Adra Skaggs.

B.Creating a safe and spirited community - 

-Renaissance Conference Report

-School Safety Plan/Team Review - A motion to approve the safety plan was made by Dennis Robbins and seconded by Kayley McMullan.

-School Safety Day - active shooter preparedness - Aug 3rd

C.  Helping students become CCR - 1st 2 days

D.  Striving for Excellence 

-Facilities Project Updates (FCS)

-PD Plans

-Internal Faculty Survey

6.Dates for the 2026-2027 SBDM Council meetings: 8/5, 9/2, 10/14, 11/4, 12/2, 1/6, 2/3, 3/3, 4/14, 5/5, 6/2 SBDM training options:

A motion to approve the trips was made by Catron Burdette and seconded by Dennis Robbins.

10.The meeting was opened to public comment
