Butler Co. High School will host the 2022, 12th District Girls/ Boys District Basketball tournament on the dates of Feb. 21,22,24,25. This begins the post season play for every girls & boys  high school basketball team across the state. 

The 12th District consists of Butler Co. HS, Edmonson Co. HS, Grayson Co. HS and Whitesville Trinity HS. The 12th district realignment was in 2005/06 season, marking this, the 17th year of this four team district makeup. The 12th District is in Region 3. 

Quick History -12th District Boys Basketball 2005- present....Tournament results to date Grayson Co. HS has won (11) eleven district championships, Butler Co. HS has won (4) four district championships, Edmonson Co. HS has won (1) one district title, while Whitesville Trinity HS has never won a boys district title since the realignment in the 2005-06 season.

HS has won (3) three district championships, Butler Co. HS & Whitesville Trinity HS has never won a girls 12th district title since the realignment in the 2005-06 season.

Both winners and runner up of District play, advance to Region 3 basketball tournament to be played at a neutral site the Sports Center in Owensboro, Ky. Dates TBA. 

At the time of writing, the 12th district seeding had NOT been set with district regular season games left to be played this coming weekend; so brackets are TBA. 

Here is a quick look at the 12th District tournament week to come, on Monday, Feb. 21 opening night with a Girls doubleheader event, game times are set for 6pm tip off game one; to be followed by a 7:30pm tip off of game two. 

Tuesday, Feb. 22, a Boys doubleheader event, game times are set for 6pm tip off game one; to be followed by a 7:30pm tip off of game two. 

Thursday, Feb. 24, the girls District championship event, game time set for 7pm. At games end, trophies and awards will be presented. 

Friday, Feb. 25 the boys District championship event, game time set for 7pm.  At games end, trophies and awards will be presented. 

Saturday, Feb. 26 the Region 3 Basketball Draw meeting will be held to determine, dates, times and opponents for both Boys & Girls Region 3 Basketball Tournament to be held at Sports Center, Owensboro, Ky.
