BCHS Seniors Receive $1.9 Million in Scholarships and Awards

On Thursday night Butler County High School Seniors accepted $1,917,154.00 in scholarships and awards.
“This, $1.9 million, is the largest amount of awards in school history.  We have a total of 133 awards,” said Duane Curry, BCHS Counselor.

The largest single scholarship was awarded to Candace Ibarra.  She received an $84,000 ROTC scholarship to Florida A&M.(pictured above)


Senior Beta Club members were presented their stoles by Mrs. Paula Clark and Mrs. Hanna Southerland. 
“The purpose of Beta Club is the promotion of scholarship, leadership, and good citizenship at Butler County High School, and these students have done an excellent job,” said Mrs. Clark.
Senior Beta Members include: Sierra Fields, Laura Hunt, Elijah Flener Ashley Bell, Austin VonAxelson, Audrey Porter, Chelsea Dockery, Rachel Rose, Payton Grubb, Hunter Peay, Tori Fugate, Logan Lawrence, Trenton Chism, Alex Hall, Josh Davis, Dylan Havens, Kayla Spurgeon, Morgan Manning, Madeline Drake, Bradley Trent, Hollie Coleman, Mahkayla Burden, and Jazmin Reynolds.
Awards were presented to underclassmen in the areas of: Mathematics, Carpentry, Air Conditioning Technology, Automotive Technology, Health Science, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Art, Drama, Physical Education, Health, English, Foreign Language, Agriculture Education, Family and Consumer Science, Technology Education, Business, NJROTC, Science, and Social Studies
