The Lady Bears played recently against Breckenridge County. Both teams came out hungry and ready to play. Breckenridge returned many key players from last season that made their team a tough one to beat. Butler County got down early by two goals but fought back to a 2-1 score by halftime. With an assist from a corner kick by Dixie Garnier Freshman Tori (Boots) West put her first varsity goal in the back of the net. The Bears had many more opportunities to score the rest of the game but struggled to put the ball in the net. The opponent netted one more goal toward the end of the game to make the final 3-1.

The second district game within a weeks time was against district foe, Meade County. This game is always a tough game. The home team had many players out for various reasons which in the end made it hard for them to build any type of game plan. Scoring goals in pairs and scoring them quickly made for a short night for the Bears. Meade is a tough opponent. Butler will not play them again in the regular season but will most likely play them in the first round of the District tournament the week after Fall break.
