BCHS Hosts Career Day

On Friday, various professionals gathered in Butler County High School for Career Day. Career Day at BCHS allows students an opportunity to explore different careers and have their questions answered.  Earlier in the month, BCHS students were given a list of attending professions and chose their top four.   Friday, the students were assigned two of their four choices.  They then attended two 45 minute sessions held by a representative of those professions. Among the representatives were Butler County Judge Executive David Fields, Sheriff Scottie Ward, Certified Public Accountant Eric Elms, and Cosmetologist Jen Jewell.

Whether the students were interested in Health Care or Automotive Maintenance, BCHS Career Day had the right sessions for each student.  Each session consisted of a presentation informing students about the profession.  The representatives then did a question and answer with the students.  Students learned things from the seminar leaders that textbooks could not have taught them, such as local salary or college requirements.
“Career Day would not be possible without the support of our community, we would like to take this opportunity to thank any attending seminar leaders,” said Patty Glass
