BCHS honors fall sports athletes

Butler County High School honored the fall sport athletes prior to Friday night's football game.

Miss Kaitlyn Franzell. 

Kaitlyn has cheered for 2 years.  She is the daughter of Michelle Franzell & grand daughter of Kathleen Brooks, both of Morgantown and is being escorted tonight by her mother and grandmother. 

After graduation, Kaitlyn plans to become a Special Education Teacher, in honor of her sister Mallory Jo Franzell. Her favorite memory is going to Disney with her friends and family for Nationals.

When asked what she is going to miss the most, she said she will miss cheering at games and cheering with her cousin Cardyn.

Mr. Marvin Brown. 

Marvin has run Cross Country for 7 years. He is the son of Ginger & Darrell Brown of Southill and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Marvin plans to attend college to pursue a career in Sports Marketing.

His favorite memories are the WWE wrestling matches while at the hotel during state competitions.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Marvin said the brotherhood he and his teammates created over the years and the competitive relays after Wednesday practices.

Mr. Ryder Harbaugh. 

Ryder has run Cross Country for 2 years. He is the son of Joe & Ellie Harbaugh of Morgantown and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Ryder plans to pursue a degree in accounting. 

His favorite memory is running to Mrs. Davis’ house with Case, Carson & Marvin.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Ryder said he will miss running around town with his friends.

Mr. Landon Henderson. 

Landon has run Cross Country for 4 years. He is the son of Wendy & Russell Givens and Patrick & Jenny Henderson, all of Morgantown. He is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Landon plans to attend SKYCTC to pursue a career in HVAC.

His favorite memory is going to State in Cross Country.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Landon said his friends and all the things they did together.

Mr. Case William Hooten. 

Case has run Cross Country for 11 years. He is the son of Amy Hood Waddle and Bobbie Hooten Jr., both of Morgantown. He is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Case plans to attend college to pursue a career as an Athletic Trainer.

His favorite memory is when Coach Andy Fuller took the team to the Elementary State Cross Country Meet and he was the first person to drive one of the brand new school vans, and backed it into a guys truck. He left a post it note on the truck window, letting the guy know what had happened. When they all got back, he took a plunger to the dent and got it out.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Case said all the group long runs.

Mr. Kaeden Nicewinter. 

Kaeden has run Cross Country for 1 year.  He is the son of Beau & Makaila Nicewinter and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

Kaeden has enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and will be pursuing that path after graduation.

His favorite memory is leaving the Cross Country Meets and going home to sleep.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Kaeden said he will  miss all the great coaches.

Miss. Harmony Taylor. 

Harmony has run Cross Country for 4 years. She is the daughter of Robert & Amanda Taylor of the Banock Community. She is being escorted tonight by her parents. 

After graduation, Harmony plans to pursue a Bachelor's Degree but is undecided of her major at this time.

Her favorite memory is playing powerball in the fieldhouse.

When asked what she is going to miss the most, Harmony said she will miss running with all her friends.

Mr. Preston Clark. 

Preston has played golf for 4 years.

He is the son of Brent & Dana Clark of Rochester and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Preston plans to attend college but is undecided of his major at this time.

His favorite memory is the van rides to and from the Golf matches.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Preston said getting to play golf for free.

 

Mr. Lawson Rice - Lawson could not be here tonight due to a death in his family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Lawson has played golf for 4 years.

He is the son of Stephen & Stacy Rice of Logansport.

Lawson has signed with Western Kentucky University to play basketball after graduation and is undecided of his major at this time.

His favorite memory is qualifying for Semi State last year.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Lawson said the van rides to and from the matches. 

Mr. Tucker Dejarnette

Tucker has played football for 11 years. He is the son of Kimberly Greene and Jason DeJarnette, both of Bowling Green and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Tucker plans on attending South Central Kentucky Community Technical College for Maintenance.

His favorite memory is when they went to camp this year and had so much fun with his team.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Tucker said he will miss being on the field and going to war with his brothers.

Mr. Clayton Deweese

Clayton has played football for 1 year. He is the son of Amy & Darrell Deweese of Morgantown and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Clayton plans to become an Electrician.

His favorite memory was going to camp Loucon this summer.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Clayton said he will miss the coaching staff and the game itself.

Mr. Trever Deweese

Trever has played football for 1 year. He is the son of Denny & Brittany Deweese, of Morgantown and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Trever plans to go to college to play basketball.

His favorite memory is going to football camp over the summer.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Trever said he will miss his teammates, coaches and playing home games on Friday nights.

 Mr. Reece Filback

Reece has played football for 7 years.

He is the son of Erin & Clinton Phelps of Logansport and Robert & Makayla Filback of Roundhill and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Reece plans to go into Sports Medicine.

His favorite memory is hosting a home playoff game his sophomore year.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Reece said the brotherhood and hanging out with the same guys everyday at practice.

Mr. Breyden McKinney

Breyden has played football for 1 year.

He is the son of Tiffany & Isa Neblina of Morgantown and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Breyden plans to go to college to pursue a degree in Physiology.

His favorite memory is going to football camp.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Breyden said he will miss the new found friendships and the bus rides to and from the games.

Mr. Kellon Meredith

Kellon has played football for 10 years.

He is the son of Amber & Jake Martin and Stuart & Alicia Meredith, all of Morgantown He is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Kellon plans to enroll in Lineman School.

His favorite memory is when they went to camp and woke up every morning to Coach Emmick playing AC/DC.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Kellon said he will miss playing football and all the memories and friends he’s made along the way. 

Mr. Brock Pfingston

Brock has played football for 7 years.

He is the son of Sheri & Adam Carroll of Morgantown and Bobby Pfingston of Evansville, Indiana. He is being escorted tonight by his mom & step dad. 

After graduation, Brock plans to attend the University of the Cumberlands to pursue a degree in either Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

His favorite memory is when he got an interception.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Brock said he will miss 4th block Math 150.

Mr. Garrett Phelps

Garrett has played football for 10 years.

He is the son of Bryan & Rachel Phelps of Morgantown and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Garrett plans to attend college to pursue a degree in construction management.

His favorite memory is being at camp when the seniors woke up the whole team at 1am and told them it was time for breakfast.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Garrett said he will miss the bus rides back home with the guys.

Mr. Lonnie Phelps

Lonnie has played football for 10 years.

He is the son of Melissa Phelps & Lonnie Phelps, both of Morgantown and is being escorted tonight by his parents. 

After graduation, Lonnie plans to pursue a career in welding with his dad.

His favorite memory is when they went to camp and Emmick woke them up with AC/DC blaring.

When asked what he is going to miss the most, Lonnie said he will miss all his brothers on the team and the coaches that helped him through his senior year.
