BCHS Golf Team Completed Busy Week

The Butler County High School Boys Golf Team has been very busy this past week. They participated in a 18 hole invitational at Western Hills this past Saturday and had three matches.

On September 3rd the Bears played Breckinridge County at home. Hunter Cardwell led the Bears with a 42, Houston Jones and Remmington Harpe both put up 44’s. Eddie Phelps had a 45, Jon Zlater and Easton Jones both with a 47.

On September 4th the Bears played a makeup match with Hancock County at Hidden Valley. The Bears took a loss by five strokes. Trevor Dockery fired a 38 to lead the team. Remmington Harpe shot a strong 40, Houston Jones with a 41 and Hunter Cardwell with a 45. This made the team score 164 while Hancock County shot a 159.

On September 5th Owensboro Senior and Grayson County came to play the Bears at home. Butler County went for 1-1 in this match. Hunter Cardwell and Remmington Harpe tied for medalist of this match with a 40. Houston Jones followed with a strong 41, Eddie Phelps 43, Trevor Dockery 45, Zach West 50, Jon Zlater 51 and Easton Jones with a 55. Butler County finished with a team score of 164 while Grayson County edged the Bears with a 162.

This past Saturday the Bears traveled to Christian County to play in an 18 hole invitational. Remmington Harpe led the Bears with a score of 92, Eddie Phelps and Houston Jones with 95, Trevor Dockery with a 96 and Hunter Cardwell with a 104.

The Bears did a great job of shooting consistent scores this week and had all close matches. This is very encouraging for the remaining matches and with the Regional Tournament just around the corner.
