BCHS Football Hosts 2016 Awards Banquet

The BCHS Football Awards banquet was held, Thursday January 26th.  The Awards banquet was a night of recognition for the Bears Football team of 2016.  Head Coach Ryan Emmick was the master of ceremonies, and welcomed a crowd numbering one hundred plus of parents, family, friends, administration and the Quarterback Club.

The BCHS Football team finished 8-4 overall on the season.  The Bears went 7-3 regular season, and 1-1 in the post season play with a win over Ballard Memorial and then a season-ending loss to Mayfield. 

Recognition and awards given on the night were by player(s) vote. The night was also one last time to say farwell to a Senior Class who experienced football success their entire career.  The Senior Class is as follows:  Kyle Householder, Lake Carmeron, Kaleb Hunt, Seth Gaskey, Issac Pendley, Issac Flener, Dillon Brosnan, Dalton Lee, Logan Richardson, Blake Graham, Rex Henderson and Ty Burden. 

Recognition by classes are as follows:  Junior Class:  Brenden Shanklin, Houston Hampton, Noah Beasley, Andrew Henry, Tanner Herrera, Daltyn Havens, Christian McKee, Trevor Spradlin, Ethan Carroll, Gage Ward, Ty Smith and  Tristen Estavar.

Recognition of Sophomore Class: Tristen Phelps, Alex Rich, Cooper Maxfield, Michael Elmore, Dawson Carroll, Logan Inglis, Kain Neighbors, Logan Binion, Aaron Bratcher, Keaton Diaz, Tavarus Holloway, Weston Merritt and Tyler Yates. 

Recognition of Freshman Class: Warren Cameron, Ethan Lawrence, and Logan Thurmand. 

Recognition of Managers: Courtney Blake, Amber Blunk, and Hanna McKinney. 

The following Award winners on the night were as follows: 

 

 Special Teams Player of Year:  Logan Richardson

 Defensive Lineman of Year: Kaleb Hunt & Issac Flener 

 Defensive Linebacker of Year: Ty Smith 

 Defensive Back of Year: Rex Henderson 

Defensive Most Valuable Player of Year: Dillon Brosnan 

 Offensive Lineman of Year: Issac Pendley & Seth Gaskey

Offensive Running Back of Year: Houston Hampton

 Offensive Receiver of Year:  Gage Ward 

Offensive Most Valuable Player of Year: Rex Henderson 

 

Troy Tuck Award: Lake Cameron, the Troy Tuck Award is awarded to a role model student-athlete both off and on the field. The Troy Tuck Award began in 1983 by then Head Coach Richard Stonebreaker. The award is named after the late Troy “Sally “Tuck, the founder of the first BCHS quarterback club.
