BCHS Football: Bears set to host Hancock County

MORGANTOWN - Ranked 10th in the state, Butler County is set to host Hancock County for a Class 2A, District 2 game on Friday, Oct. 1.

Butler County is 4-1 overall and 1-0 in Class 2A, District 2. Following a shutout loss to Russellville in its season opener, Butler County has reeled off four straight wins over Waggener, Breckinridge County, Grayson County and McLean County.

Five opponents combined to edge the Bears 110-108 in scoring during the first half of the 2021 high school football season.

Hancock County is 4-2 overall and 0-1 in Class 2A, District 2. After opening the season with four straight wins, Hancock County has dropped back-to-back games. The Hornets have claimed wins over Breckinridge County, Muhlenberg County, Ohio County and Edmonson County. Hancock County has suffered losses to Crittenden County and Owensboro Catholic. 

Through six games, Hancock County has outscored opponents 173-97. 

Hancock County pulled away to beat Butler County 48-8 when the two teams met for a district game in 2020. 

Kickoff for the Butler County-Hancock County football game is set for 7 p.m..

 Homecoming activities begin at 6:15.
