The 2015 Butler Co. Bears Football Awards banquet was held Thursday, December 17th at the BCHS Commons Area. A full room of players, parents, relatives, and friends were in attendance to honor the 2015 squad.  Head Coach Ryan Emmick was the master of ceremonies and had a thank you list that ranged from boosters, parents, coaching staff, and family for all the support throughout the past six months.

The BCHS football team of 2015, finished with a (9-3) overall record, and a (3-1) record in District play. The Bears went (8-2) in regular season, and for the second year in a row the Runner Up in Region 1/District 2; with the lone district loss to Owensboro Catholic.

Sophomore Class: Ty Smith, Daltyn Havens, Houston Hampton, Noah Beasley, Patton Allen, Gage Ward, Tanner Herrara, Andrew Henry, Brendan Shanklin, Christian McKee, AJ Markham, Trevor Spradlin

All the awards presented were based on team votes; at the end of the season a team meeting was held in which all players voted on each category. Here are the results and award winners:

Offensive Receiver of Year: (Senior- Jacob Hixenbaugh/ Junior- Blake Graham)

Offensive MVP: (Junior- Rex Henderson)

Defensive Lineman of the Year: (Junior- Issac Flener)

Defensive Linebacker of Year: (Junior- Dillon Brosnan/ Soph-. Ty Smith)

Defensive Back of Year: (Junior- Rex Henderson)

Defensive MVP: (Junior -Dillon Brosnan)

Captains Awards: (4) seniors, Isiah Arnold, Ian Embry, Jacob Hixenbaugh, and Alfredo Gomez

Each class was also recognized with certificates for academic excellence. The KHSAA recognizes the following: KHSAA All State Honorable Mention awarded to those with a GPA of 3.25-3.74; then KHSAA All State Academic First Team to those with a GPA of 3.75-4.00
