BCHS Cross Country Team Travels to Barren Co.
The Butler County cross-country team traveled to Barren County on Thursday September 27th for a district Varsity meet. The girls Varsity team finished 3rd out of 9 schools and was led by freshman Olivia Neighbors who finished 8th overall with a time of 22:09.
Eighth grader Hannah Perry was 10th with a time of 22:36 and junior Chanda Hampton came in 13th with a time of 23:08. Also finishing in the Top 20 for Butler County were Maranda Pierson (23:16), Kierra Neighbors (23:40), Delaney Embry (23:59), and Reece Robbins (24:33). Hannah Johnson, Hannah Logan, Amy Rogers, and Dalys Bishop also had good finishes for the team.
The Varsity boys team also finished 3rd out of 9 schools and was led by junior Ethan Jenkins who finished the race 4th overall with a personal best time of 17:47. Also finishing in the Top 20 for the boys team was freshman Cameron Price (14th overall, 19:47) and junior Drew Henderson (20th overall, 20:25). Matthew Embry, Garrison Odle, Justin Elms, Jacob Mudd, Kain Neighbors, and Connor Brown also finished strong for the team.
The team will be back in action Saturday October 6th at the Mustang Stampede in Greenville. Good luck to BCXC!
