BCHS Competes in The Great Gator Invitational

The Butler County Track and Field Team went to work Friday, April 22nd at The Great Gator Invitational. “This meet at Greenwood is one of the largest meets of the year.” Explained Coach Fuller. “We are one of the smaller schools here, and this fierce competition will push us to be better.” BCHS Boy’s 4X100 relay team brought home 2nd place, while Hannah Perry placed 4th in the 800 meter run.

The Great Gator Invitational is an annual event that consists of schools from Kentucky as well as Tennessee. The team present were: Allen County-Scottsville, Barren County, Bowling Green High, Butler County, Edmonson County, Franklin-Simpson, Greenwood, Harlan, Logan County, Portland High School, Russellville, South Warren, Todd County Central, Warren Central, and Warren East. The meet brought in fans from all over the region, and over 500 competing athletes. “It is a good thing for Butler County to be a part of, and be competitive in.” Described Coach Donaldson. “It would be great if Butler County could hold one of these events in the future, but we will have to improve our facilities a great deal first. These events can bring in self-sustaining revenue, and it would be nice to give these athletes a home meet.”
