The Butler County School District welcomed a blast from the past on Friday night, September 22, as members of the BCHS Class of 1973 were on hand for football homecoming festivities.   The class was celebrating their 50th class anniversary this past weekend.

"Once a BEAR, always a BEAR, and we take pride in honoring those past and present classes that have walked the halls of Butler County Schools," said Supt. Robert Tuck.

The class of 1973 football team was coached by Roy Petett and had a record of 7 wins, three losses, and one tie. Players included Alan Madison, John Hutcheson, Garry McKee, Miles Tomes, Alan Mastin, Mark Killingsworth, Ross Carroll, and Donnie Drake.

The 1973 Homecoming Queen was Diane Russ, and her escort was Lee Smith. Attendants were Jill Harrison, her escort Keith Lovan, and Susan Johnson, with escort Jerry Akin.

The National Anthem was sung by the Class of 1973's very own Rocky Lytle.

If any class is having a reunion and would like to link a weekend with a sporting event and be recognized, please contact Butler County Schools.
