BCHS Boys Senior Night 2025

Butler County High School honored their senior boy basketball player on Tuesday night .

#11 Mr. Justin Castlen

Justin has played basketball since he was in kindergarten. He is being escorted tonight by his parents, Richard and Joanna Castlen, of Morgantown. After graduation, Justin plans to pursue a degree in Industrial Maintenance. 

His favorite memory is winning the 3rd Region Championship for the first time in school history and then playing in the Sweet 16 State Tournament and popping 3’s in Rupp Arena. Justin will miss playing basketball with all the guys that he’s grown up with from elementary, middle and high school. He would like to give some advice to the younger players - Remember to have fun because it goes by quickly, enjoy your time playing.

 

#15 Mr. Briar Griffin. 

Briar has played basketball since he was in 3rd grade. He is being escorted tonight by his parents, RB Griffin and Ashley Flint, both of Rochester. After graduation, Briar is planning to Major in Physical Therapy while also pursuing a Degree in Business. His favorite memory is winning the 3rd Region Championship. Briar will miss playing basketball with all of his friends and the fan base that is always there for the team.

 

#5 Mr. Case Hooten. 

Case has played basketball since he was in kindergarten. He is being escorted tonight by his parents, Bobbie Hooten Jr. and Amy Hood Waddle, both of Morgantown. Case is a member of FCCLA, BETA, Renaissance Leadership & NAC and he also runs Cross Country & Track. After graduation, Case plans to attend the University of Kentucky to pursue a career as an Athletic Trainer. His favorite memories are going on overnight trips with the team. Case is going to miss his team and all the things that they have accomplished together. He would like to give some advice to the younger players - Have fun and enjoy it while it lasts. He would also like to thank the fans, parents & coaches for making it all happen!

 

#3 Mr. Clayton Deweese.

Clayton has played basketball since he was in 1st grade. He is being escorted tonight by his parents, Darrell and Amy Deweese, of Leonard Oak. After graduation, Clayton plans on pursuing a career as either an Electrician or Welder. His favorite memory is winning the 3rd Region Championship with half of Butler County in the gym supporting the team. Clayton will miss his teammates that he has played with his entire life. 

 

#2 Mr. Trever Deweese.

Trever has played basketball since he was in kindergarten. He is being escorted tonight by his parents, Denny and Britany Deweese, of Leonard Oak. Trever is also a member of the BCHS Football team. After graduation, Trever plans to continue playing basketball in college and then pursue a career as a Lineman. His favorite memory is winning the 3rd Region Championship for the first time in school history. Trever is going to miss playing the sport that he loves with his teammates and coaches. He would like to give some advice to the younger players - Never give up on your goals!

#20 Mr. Garrett Phelps.

This is Garrett’s first year playing BCHS Basketball. He is being escorted tonight by his parents, Bryan and Rachel Phelps of Morgantown. Garrett is also a member of the BCHS Football, Baseball & Bass Fishing team. After graduation, Garrett plans to pursue a degree in Construction Management. His favorite memory is cracking jokes with Lawson on the bench. Garrett will miss his teammates.

#22 Mr. Ty Price.

Ty has played basketball since he was in kindergarten. He is the son of the late Mike and Laura Price and is being escorted tonight by Greg Keown and Ashley Kane. He is a member of FCA. After graduation, Ty will be attending UT Martin to continue his basketball career through whatever opportunities arise. His favorite memory is winning Butler County’s first Region Championship last year. Ty will miss seeing his best friends everyday and playing the game they all love together. He would like to give some advice to the younger players - Trust God and trust yourself!

Hack Media presented Ty Price with a custom poster to celebrate Ty's incredible accomplishment of surpassing 1,000 field goals in the 3rd region. This poster is a mosaic image made of exactly 1,000 action photos taken of Mr. Price. 

 

#24 Mr. Lawson Rice.

Lawson has played basketball since he can remember. He is being escorted tonight by his parents, Stephen and Stacy Rice of Logansport. He is a member of BETA and FCA and is also on the BCHS Golf team. After graduation, Lawson will be attending Western Kentucky University to continue his basketball career, but is undecided of his major at this time. His favorite memory is winning the 3rd Region Championship and making it to the Sweet 16 State Tournament in Rupp Arena. Lawson will miss being with the guys and cutting up. He would like to give some advice to the younger players - Enjoy it while you can, even on the bad days.

 

The players presented Coach Dockery, with a gift to show their appreciation, together as a team, made Butler County High School history.

These seniors would like to thank all of their family, friends, coaches and fans who have supported them through the years and their dedication to the class of 2025.
