On Saturday, August 17th, the boys traveled to Dawson Springs to play in an 18 hole invitational tournament. The tournament consisted of eighteen teams and four individuals. Five individuals from the team traveled to play in the tournament; Hunter Cardwell, Houston Jones, Remmington Harpe, Eddie Phelps and Trevor Dockery.  The weather was a major factor at the beginning of the tournament, heavy rains, strong wind, and course conditions made it harder on all of the players. After the first 9 holes Hunter Cardwell had 51, Houston Jones put up a 42, Remmington Harpe 48, Eddie Phelps 51 and Trevor Dockery a 57. Houston led the Butler County Bears with a low total of 84 for the day. Hunter Cardwell prevailed and shot 42 on the second 9 which made him finish with a 93. Remmington Harpe finished with a strong 97, Eddie Phelps with a 103 and Trevor Dockery finished with a 106. Houston Jones had an excellent round of golf and never let the weather conditions make an impact on his game. The final results of all the other teams were not complete before leaving the tournament. Butler County finished with a decent team score. The team still has room to improve and will continue to participate in tournaments, the next one being on September 7th at Western Hills in Christian County. Go BEARS!
