BCHS Boys' Golf Team brings home the trophy

The Butler County Boys Golf team traveled to Central City Country Club on Saturday September 18th for the Muhlenburg County Invitational Tournament.

After a slight rain delay the Bears teed off shortly after 9:30 AM. Butler County got things going from the number 10 tee box and played along side Hopkinsville, Dawson Springs and Owensboro.

Jonah Swift got a hot start with a birdie on number 10 and finished the first nine with an even par 36.

Adam Rogers and Drew Daugherty both got things going early as well shooting 39 and 40 through the first nine holes.

Andrew Gill began to heat up on the second nine and shot a 39 for the final 9 hole stretch.

In high school golf, each team plays five players and the best 4 scores are accumulated to determine the team winners.

There were 14 teams in the field and the bears ended the day with a strong team score of 332 and brought home the second place team trophy. McCracken County won the team event with a score of 315.

The Bears will travel to Henderson Country Club on Tuesday September 28th for the regional tournament.
