Bears lose to Central Hardin at South Warren

 

BOWLING GREEN - Butler County came up short on a neutral field as Central Hardin prevailed 7-5 at South Warren High School on Saturday, May 1. 

Reece Sherrard led Central Hardin to the victory on the mound. Sherrard allowed one hit and two runs over three innings, striking out three. 

Christian Pinson and Raymond Goodman helped to close out the game on the mound for the Bruins, pitching in relief.

Will Embry took the loss on the mound for the Bears. Embry pitched three innings, allowing five runs on two hits while registering four strikeouts. 

Jake McKee was the starting pitcher for the Bears. McKee allowed two runs on two hits, walking one and striking out two over four innings. 

Caden Alvey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Central Hardin's offensive attack.

Kolton Hudson led Butler County at the plate, delivering two hits in four at-bats.

Chipping in offensively for Butler County, Hunter McKee, Jordan McCrady, Jake McKee and Ross West drove in one run apiece. 

 

McKee, Lewis pitch Bears past Christian County, 6-2

 

BOWLING GREEN - Hunter McKee and Eli Lewis combined to pitch Butler County past Christian County 6-2 in the South Warren Lumberjack Classic on Friday, April 30.

The Bears set the tone early, plating two runs during their opening at-bat. Butler County scored first and never trailed. The Bears led 4-0 at the conclusion of the second inning. 

McKee earned the win on the mound for the Bears. Working out of a starting role, McKee allowed one run on one hit over five innings, recording 13 strikeouts. 

Closing out the game on the mound for the Bears, Lewis pitched two innings in relief.

Christian County hurler Elijah Underhill took the loss on the mound. Underhill surrendered four runs on three hits over two innings, striking out three.

The Bears outhit Christian County 7-3. 

McKee and Ross West led Butler County at the plate, recording two hits apiece for the Bears. West drove in two of Butler County's six runs.

Christian County committed the only error in the high school baseball game.
