BC TOURISM: Funds approved for Rochester Ladies League project; Butler County Arts Guild endeavors
The Butler County Tourism Commission held its monthly meeting on Mar. 3 at the Eva J. Hawes Community Building.
The treasurer’s report was read and approved with a balance of $10,815.96.
The commission voted 6-0 in favor of giving the Rochester Ladies League $1.114.10 in funds for beautification efforts projects.
Butler County Arts Guild President Gary Smirtic addressed the Butler County Tourism Commission, discussing potential creative endeavors planned in area and noted intentions to create a platform for Butler County residents to participate in art courses taught by local artists. The commission voted 6-0 in favor of giving the Butler County Arts Guild $1000 in funds.
Roger Tanner, speaking on behalf of the 10th Annual Butler County Antique Engine & Tractor Show, said the event will be drawing national TV show stars from RFD-TV’s program “Classic Tractor Fever,” during the Aug. 5-6 event in Morgantown.
Mayor Billy Phelps, the Tourism Commission and guest discussed the possibility of a Restaurant Tax.
