BC Tennis: Girls pick up win; Boys fall to Apollo

Thursday, the BCHS tennis teams traveled to Apollo High School to take on the Eagles and E-Gals.

Against one of the better teams in the 3rd region, the boys team fell 0-9.  Remmington Harpe, playing at #1 singles for the first time, showed great improvement during the match.  Though he lost the match 0-6 0-6, most observers felt it was perhaps the best he had ever played.  Several other boys showed better performances, possibly given the "nothing to lose" mentally of playing a more-advanced boys team.

The girls match saw the Lady Bears improve to 4-1 on the season with a 6-3 win over the E-gals.  The top of the girls line-up showed why it is one of the better foursomes in the region.  Chanda Hampton, Katona Dockery, and Sierra Fields won with little trouble at the #1-3 singles positions.  Emily Wallace won at the #4 spot with only a small amount of trepidation for the Butler County crowd.  At the #1 doubles position, the duo of Hampton/Dockery locked up the team win for the Lady Bears, winning 8-6, and giving the girls the clinching fifth team point.
