B.C.M.S. Softball Tryouts

Tryouts for the Butler County Middle School softball team will be held June 20-22, 2016 at the B.C.H.S. Softball Complex off Gardner Lane in Morgantown.  Tryouts on Monday and Tuesday will be from 5 to 7 p.m.; tryouts on Wednesday will be 8 to 10:00 a.m.  Tryouts are open to all players who will be in grades 6-8 for the 2016-17 school year.  Players will be evaluated by a rating system based on four critical performance areas - throwing, hitting, fly balls, and ground balls, in addition to three bonus areas - pitching, base-running, and bunting.  Players trying out must have a KHSAA Middle School Physical and Permission form, which can be picked up at local schools or downloaded from the KHSAA website. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRYOUT FOR THE TEAM IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A COMPLETED KHSAA MIDDLE SCHOOL PHYSICAL AND PERMISSION FORM.  Roster positions for the 2016 fall season are limited to no more than 20 players.  Therefore, tryouts will be competitive and physically demanding.  Based on 15 returning players, no more than five new players will be added to the 2016 B.C.M.S. team.  Parents and players need to understand this before deciding to try out for the team.  Tryout forms will be available at local schools, from Coach Jack Clark at Butler County Farm Bureau or at the Beech Tree News/WLBQ office at 107 West Ohio Street in Morgantown.  For more information, contact Coach John Embry at 270-526-7945.
