WHO SHOULD PRE-REGISTER?
Students who will attend preschool or kindergarten in Butler County for the 2012-2013 school year need to pre-register so that a date and time for screening (testing) can be scheduled. No other information will be needed at this time.

KINDERGARTEN
Children can enter primary school at age five, but only if their fifth birthday is on or before October 1 of the current school year.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR FOUR-YEAR-OLD PROGRAM
To pre-register for the Monday through Thursday four-year-old program, a child must be four years old by October 1 of the current school year.  The parent must complete an application and household income form at the time of pre-registration.  A three or four-year-old with a developmental delay or disability will also be allowed to attend.

WHAT TO BRING TO SCREENING
Before a child may be officially enrolled in Pre-school or Kindergarten, they must have a certified birth certificate (not hospital copy), Kentucky Immunization Certificate, physical examination, eye examination, and social security card.  Dental checks will be conducted at a later date with screening for kindergarten enrollees.
Verification of income is necessary for Preschool registration only.  A copy of a pay stub, W2 form or 2011 tax form 1040 are all forms of proof of household income.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THOSE ENTERING SIXTH GRADE
Parents of children who will enter the sixth grade next school year are reminded that state law requires that before enrollment, the student must have received the second MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) shot and they must have a physical examination.
