BC Library Launches New Website

www.bcplky.org

Morgantown, KY-The Butler County Public Library announces its new website, which launched on January 2.
Director of the library Kenna Martin anticipates the new website will better meet the needs of residents by making it easier to find what is available at the library.
Among the website’s new features is a calendar that gives users an easy way to see what programs are offered at the library. Other online features to explore include the online e-book library and the library catalog online.
Martin said that the library is responding to changing digital needs.  “More and more people use digital devices these days, if only by using a smart phone. Public libraries, while still offering print books, in-person information assistance, and live programs, also offer many digital services as well,” Martin said.
“Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents by serving their information, leisure, and lifelong learning needs.”  The library provides information in whatever medium the public needs, whether it is print, audio, personal presentation or digital resource. We offer access to computers and the internet. We offer free e-books.  We provide computers so that library patrons can communicate with friends and family through email and apply for jobs through online applications. Updating the website is the next step in keeping the Butler County Public Library relevant for users of all ages.
The BC Library Board and staff would like to thank website designers of Yellowberri for their time, patience and creativity on this project.
