B.C. Girls' Softball holds end-of-season tournament
A full day of softball was played on Saturday, June 6, as Butler County High School played host to the Butler County Girls' Softball League's end-of-season tournament. A total of eight teams took part in the day-long event. The morning session consisted of three games in the 5-8 league. In the championship game, the Explosion defeated the Blue Diamonds 8-5.
The afternoon session also featured three games in the 9-12 age division. The Heart Breakers beat the Lady Rebels 12-9 for the championship.
"We had a great day of softball and were happy to host the event for the local league," said B.C.H.S. head coach John Embry. "Our facilities/field are among the best around and we're glad the younger girls got the opportunity to play their season tournament there."
Other teams participating in the tournament were the Diamon Divas and 'Lil Heart Breakers in the 5-8 division and the Babes and Misfits in the 9-12 division.
