BC Drug Free- Second Hand Smoke

Does your child have frequent ear infections?  Do you smoke?  Did you know that exposing your child to secondhand tobacco smoke could be contributing to their ear infections?  It may seem crazy but it is very true!  Children who are exposed to tobacco smoke are at an increased risk for frequent ear infections.  Although some parents may try to cut down on their smoking or smoke outside, this usually does not resolve the problem.  The best way to prevent ear infections in your child if you are a smoker, is to quit smoking altogether!  Quitting smoking now will help to prevent future ear infections and their associated risks.  What’s even better?  By quitting smoking, you are not only helping your child’s health, but your own as well!  There are many resources available to help you quit smoking!
