What is in an e-cigarette? Do you know? This is a follow-up to our article from last week about the ingredients in cigarettes. Many people think that it is safer to smoke e-cigarettes compared to a real cigarette, but truth be told, they are both bad for you! Below is a small list that researchers have compiled as toxic chemicals and metals that have all been found in e-cigarettes:
-Nicotine: highly addictive substance
-Carcinogens: chemicals known to cause cancer
-Diethylene glycol: toxic chemical used in antifreeze
-Heavy metals such as nickel, tin, and lead
-Propylene glycol: used to make things such as antifreeze, paint solvent
-Ultrafine particles that can be inhaled deep into the lungs
