BC Drug Free

In follow-up to last week’s article about “The Real Cost”, let’s talk about e-cigarette popularity among youth.  By 2017, the FDA reports that more than 2 million teens were currently using e-cigarettes.  This is why the FDA has now expanded its successful youth prevention campaign to include the potential risks of using e-cigarettes as well.  The campaign urges teens to “know the real cost of vaping”.  Do you and your child know the real cost of vaping?  E-cigarettes contain nicotine and other harmful chemicals known to cause serious health effects.  Emerging evidence also suggest that e-cigarette use is harmful to the lungs.  Furthermore, much more research is needed to know and understand the long-term consequences of using e-cigarettes.
