In follow-up to last week’s article about “The Real Cost”, let’s talk about e-cigarette popularity among youth. By 2017, the FDA reports that more than 2 million teens were currently using e-cigarettes. This is why the FDA has now expanded its successful youth prevention campaign to include the potential risks of using e-cigarettes as well. The campaign urges teens to “know the real cost of vaping”. Do you and your child know the real cost of vaping? E-cigarettes contain nicotine and other harmful chemicals known to cause serious health effects. Emerging evidence also suggest that e-cigarette use is harmful to the lungs. Furthermore, much more research is needed to know and understand the long-term consequences of using e-cigarettes.
