BC Cross Country Team: West Ky Championship Meet

5th grader Trenton Stovall in the elementary 3k race

On Thursday October 18th the Butler County elementary and middle school cross-country teams traveled to Greenville to compete in the West Kentucky Championship Meet. Ten teams from the West Kentucky region were in attendance at the meet.

5th grader Tyler Marksberry

For the elementary girls 3k race, Butler County was led by Hailley Daniel who finished in 15:31 followed by Kaleigh Proctor finishing 15:43 and Samantha Henderson with a time of 16:47.

Garrison Odle

For the elementary boys 3k race, Justin Elms came in 7th overall with a time of 12:02 followed by Bryar Beasley with a 9th place finish with a time of 12:18. Garrison Odle finished 11th overall with a time of 12:37. Elms and Beasley were awarded medals for their top ten finishes. Trey Stovall, Trenton Stovall, Tyler Marksberry, Hayden Perry, Kain Neighbors, and Conner Glass also had good finishes helping the team clinch a 3rd place finish.

Connor Brown competed in the middle school boys 4k race and finished with a time of 23:11.

Bowen Kirby

The middle school girls 4k race was led by Hannah Perry who finished 9th overall with a time of 17:31. Delaney Embry was next crossing the line 11th overall (17:54) followed by Kierra Neighbors (15th, 18:18), Hannah Johnson (17th, 18:38), Hannah Logan (19th, 18:45), Reece Robbins (20th, 18:48), and Dalys Bishop (30th, 19:59). The team was able to secure a third place finish. Hannah Perry received a medal for her top ten finish.

The Butler County cross-country team will conclude their regular season Tuesday October 23rd at the Hopkins County Central all-comers meet. The Varsity team will be competing in the 2A Region 2 Meet on Saturday November 3rd at Ephram White Park in Bowling Green. The girls 5k is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. with the boys race immediately following. Good luck to these athletes as they pursue advancing to post-season!

I'm so proud of the young men and women to the Butler County Cross Country Team. They work exceptionally hard and deserve all the praise they get and more. Just wish they had more support from the community and school system.
They really do work hard and have to be committed. Congratulations to all the students
