BC Chapter DAR: Constitution Week September 17-23

Butler County School Superintendent Scott Howard, Judge Executive David Fields, and Mayor Linda Keown signed a proclamation on Monday morning declaring September 17-23 as Constitution Week in Morgantown and Butler County. "We look forward to celebrating Constitution Week in the school system and community," said Butler County Chapter DAR Regent Janie Henderson.

The Proclamation reads:

Whereas, September 17, 2013 marks the two hundred and twenty-sixth  anniversary of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper to officially recognize this magnificent document and the anniversary of its creation; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper to officially recognize the patriotic celebrations which commemorate the occasion; and

Whereas, public law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United States of American designating September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week;

NOW, THEREFORE, We, Judge Executive David Fields, Mayor Linda Keown of the City of Morgantown, and Superintendent Scott Howard, County of Butler, Kentucky- do hereby proclaim September 17 through the 23, 2013 to be Constitution Week.

The Butler County Daughters of the American Revolution asks our citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the Framers of the Constitution had in 1787.
