Butler County Bassmasters held their third open tournament for the 2017 season at the Lake Malone Open sponsored by Beech Tree News on Friday, July the 21st. The fish have moved out to their summer haunts in deep water.  Lake Malone is one of the premier big bass fisheries in the area, and it proved it again Friday night with multiple fish over 5 lbs being weighed in. The tournament had a three bass limit, a deviation from the usual five fish limit. 34 boats participated in the tournament winners were:  Dinky Johnson and Derek Goodall taking 1st place with 16.91 lbs.

2nd Matt Embry and Cash Embry 12.14 lbs.

3rd Larry Anderson and Wendell Anderson 10.22 lbs., 4th David Coleman and Ryan Coleman 9.28 lbs., 5th Josh Scott and Trevor Wright 8.28 lbs.

Big bass of the tournament went to Dinky Johnson and Derek Goodall with a huge 6.44 lb largemouth.

  The next BCB event will be the King of the Green Open presented by Jackson Chiropractic at the Morgantown Ramp on Pool #3 on Green River, Saturday, August 26th. Tournament starts at 6:30 AM with weigh-in at 2:30 PM. Entry fee will be $50.00/boat.  This tournament will have a guaranteed $1000 payout to the winners. Come on out for a great day of fishing.
