BASEBALL: Butler drops a pair of games - Ohio County & University Heights

Butler County fell in a 3-2 loss to Ohio County Eagles on Thursday. The Eagles took the lead on a single by Grayden Barnard in the first inning.

Ohio County pitchers struck out four, while Butler County sat down two.

Matt Smith led things off on the mound for the Eagles. The righty went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Kolton Hudson was on the hill for the Bears. He surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two and walking zero. Clay Vincent threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Logan Hargrove, Hudson, and Parker Pendley each collected one hit to lead Butler County.

 

 

BCHS 1, University Heights 8

Butler County fell to the University Heights Varsity Blazers in an 8-1 loss on Monday.

Justin Castlen was on the mound for Butler County. He went two innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out two. Garrett Phelps and Will Embry entered the game as relief, throwing three and two innings, respectively.

University Heights scored four runs in the fourth inning. Ian Tyler led things off on the hill for the Blazers. He allowed zero hits and runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.

Brycen Mode and Parker Pendley all had one hit to lead the Bears.

University Heights scored eight runs on six hits with no errors, while Butler County scored one run on two hits with six errors.
