April Chamber Luncheon

Kenzie Jones, with Home Towne Suites.

Good food, a business questionnaire, new chamber members and remaining festival sponsorships were some highlights of the April chamber luncheon held Thursday at the Cooperative Extension office. Food this month was supplied by Banock OES.

Announcements this month included:
-Heather Ragland with Blackhawk Composites is the winner of a 50 dollar certificate at a local restaurant given, by the chamber, for Administrative Professionals day.
-Spring fling is May 11 with booth applications available.
-Chamber secretary Robin Schroeder is scheduled to appear on WBKO next Tuesday. “We still have about two events at the festival that we need sponsors for,” president James Runion said.

Runion asked all chamber businesses to participate in a business focused questionnaire. “It’s three questions. We want the chamber to become a chamber which promotes your business. We want to know what your pros and cons about doing business in Morgantown and Butler County are. This is something we are taking very seriously,” he said. The information will be shared with Mayor Keown and Judge Fields.

Superintendent Howard, speaking for the adult education center, advised all persons presently seeking their GED to make every effort to finish the test before changes occur next January. His office is currently trying to reach those affected.

Kenzie Jones, with Home Towne Suites in Bowling Green, explained how their services can benefit other chamber members. “We’re an extended stay lodging facility that strives to make you feel like you are staying at a hotel, but it’s your home away from home,” she said.  Jones, originally from Cadiz Kentucky, described as an example, their amenity of feeding guests every Wednesday in order to get to know them better.

Lu Ann Surface, Massage therapist and owner of Beneath the Surface Therapeutic Massage announced that she is affiliated with All Ease Chiropractic. She presently is available in Morgantown on Thursdays and Fridays.

 Sponsors this month were:

American Leather Direct, Inc.
County Judge Executive, David Fields
Morgantown Utilities
