Andy Sullivan: Against The Grain

The Fallen Warrior- Perusing twitter on this night I’m writing this, I scroll to @JRsBBQ, Hall of Fame WWE commentator Jim Ross’ twitter, and learn that the Ultimate Warrior-real name Jim Hellwig, has passed away. He was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this past Saturday night.  As a devoted WWE fan since the late ‘80’s, I watched the Ultimate Warrior every week on television.
I thought nothing of his incoherent interviews on television.  That was just part of his onscreen persona.  All I remembered was this awesome superhero looking character.
Born June 16, 1959 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, he is survived by his wife Dana and two children Indiana Marin Warrior and Mattigan Twin Warrior.
Taken from www.abcnews.go.com:   The Ultimate Warrior, one of professional wrestling’s biggest superstars, has died at 54.  Just days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
“WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior,” a statement reads.
Warrior – who was born James Brian Hellwig – began his career in 1987. He defeated Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI to become WWE Champion.
The wrestler is survived by his wife Dana and two daughters.
The news was met with sadness and shock online.

This is absolutely horrific news. After just meeting my hero yesterday, finding out about @UltimateWarrior passing is unbelievable. Speechless.
