Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

I heard a piece of advice that is very beneficial.  Do not look at your screen time end of the week update during quarantine.  It’s likely you’re on it a lot during these times so it’s best to disregard that Sunday morning report.  Boredom will make you do interesting things.  It’ll make you do things that you wouldn’t normally.  I downloaded Tik Tok last weekend.  We are 3 weeks into quarantine.  What will I download next?

Have you downloaded apps or done other things that you wouldn’t do normally? So far I’ve just got the one.  My Sunday School class is planning to meet via Facebook Facetime Sunday.  That’s something else I’ve never done.  That could be interesting.

Fellow racing fans, have you been watching iRacing? I’d never seen it until they started airing it a few weeks ago and it’s neat! A lot of artists have been doing live concerts on Facebook Live and Instagram Live. I haven’t had the guts to do that.   What I have done, however, is record a couple of performances and post them on Facebook.  They don’t hate on me too much on there these days so it’s all good.

I’ve started reading mobituaries.  In the book, written by CBS Sunday Morning contributor Mo Rocca, Mo details interesting facts about the deaths of famous and legendary figures.  That’s my second QB, Quarantine Book.  My QM(Quarantine Movie) count is now at 8.  I recommend Angel Has Fallen, Varsity Blues(vintage pick), Pitch Perfect 1 and 2(I haven’t found 3), G,I, Joe, Spencer Confidential on Netflix(highly recommended), the latest Jumanji movie and The House(comedy starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler.  That last one is a bit raunchy.  Watch it at your discretion.

Those are just a few ideas for you to fill your QT: Quarantine Time.  Everybody practice your social distancing by staying six feet away.  You know that the term social distancing is going to be the newest term in Webster’s Dictionary at the end of the year, right? Seriously, though: keep your distance, wash your hands, practice good hygiene, etc.  I’ll be right back here next week: same bat time.  Same bat channel.  Where else am I going?
