Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

Sometimes, I like to play the game of which tv character do I identify with the most.  There’s an easy answer that I didn’t really realize until awhile back: Sherlock Holmes.  I’m not saying I’m a super-sleuth.  To further clarify, I’m speaking specifically of Sherlock as played by Jonny Lee Miller on Elementary(of which it looks like we have to wait until next year for the new season).

Sherlock likes to keep to himself.  His inner circle is small.  I like to keep to myself.  My circle is small.  Sherlock is most times odd in social situations.  I, too, can sometimes be odd in social situations.  Sherlock has odd habits and is very regimen about his workout routines.  That is true for me as well.

Sherlock has a Watson to talk him down, keep him from going too crazy.  I have my bestie to keep me from going too crazy.  I doubt Sherlock would call Joan his bestie.  Who knows? Maybe he’d be secure enough in his manhood that he would do that.

Sherlock has a pet turtle, Clyde.  I do not have a pet turtle.  Sometimes, I can be slow enough.  I don’t need a turtle.  Sherlock does a lot of research for his cases and he seems to enjoy it.  I do a lot of research for my columns and I enjoy it.  I think I’ve made my case.  Just call me Sherlock Sullivan.
