Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

This past Saturday night, I went to my 20 year high school reunion at Chuy’s.  The employees set up the patio for us which was very nice.  It was decorated very nicely.  Punctual as I am, I was the first one there.  Soon there was a steady stream of my classmates.  As usual at a reunion, I took a double-take with a few.  I’m sure some did the same with me.  Although I heard someone say I looked exactly the same.  At which point I bent over to reveal my balding head.

Our entire graduating class wasn’t in attendance but I think most who came enjoyed themselves.  We chatted a bit and then our food was brought out.  We had an excellent fajita bar-chicken and beef with cheese, lettuce and all the toppings.

I do wish I’d brought a few things, though.  I’d found a few of my old class shirts that surprisingly still look fairly decent.  I also wish I’d brought my Beats Pill so we could blast those sweet ‘90’s tunes off my Apple Music playlist or SiriusXM.  Oh well.  We did have music.  Management was nice enough to turn on a station.

We did the typical “where are we now” stuff where people stand and tell what’s going on in their life, where they’re living, etc.  I took a lot of pictures, naturally, from my phone and camera.  Towards the end of the night, I got the “Andy, are you still taking pictures”? To which I replied, “hey, it’s what I do”.

It was great to see all who were able to come.  There were some who were missed.  It was a good night.  I’d like to thank our class officers Kelly Thomas Bryant, Lisa Martin Green, Adra Hocker Skaggs.  You ladies did a great job.  There was also the hanger-on VP.  Who was that guy? Oh, that was me. J
